The Materials Engineering Team of WIES provide expertise in materials selection, corrosion analysis, materials coating and inspection, thermal insula?on, cathodic protec?on and fabrica?on, for offshore and onshore facilities such as flowlines, pipelines, risers, structures, process facili?es, utilities and associated components. Support is provided to oil and gas projects nationwide at concept, FEED and detailed design together with technical consultancy during procurement and construc?on.
The team consists of the perfect blend of, corrosion, coating and cathodic protection specialists supported by a group of external consultants to give expert capability and long term industry experience in all key areas of materials engineering. Activites are undertaken with respect to national and international design codes and standards, and we have developed in-house tools and equipments for conduc?ng actvities such as corrosion assessment CP test etc.
Coating and Thermal insulation servicesWe are currently developing a team of technicians that will be trained to carry out specialised coating of pipelines and other related structures like Jumpers, Wellheads Risers, Christmas trees etc. These will involve the use of Polyurethane coatings and also the application of Novastic thermal insulation as the case may be to provide adequate protection to offshore installatons.
These processes will be monitored by our team from the pre-applica?on through the applica?on stage, also support will be provided for pos-applica?on as the case may be. We also provide simpler forms of thermal insula?on of pipelines using heat shrink sleeves etc.

Corrosion Engineering servicesThe corrosion engineering team of WIES provide expertise in corrosion analysis and control. This is done through proper corrosion assessment, aptly providing models for corrosion rate prediction and implement effective corrosion management procedures. The most effective and up to date corrosion preventive measures are applied in order to effectively protect client facilities, while we are also ready to correct and repair facilities already affected by corrosion.
